OPENING REMARKS

This study is the 283rd study that I have recorded since the early ‘90’s when I began making tapes.  I keep asking myself, “When will this end?  How long will the Lord continue moving on my heart to record these studies that continually grow in meaning?” Now, when I think of addressing people who don’t have the understanding you do, I could make innumerable tapes concerning the basic things that we’ve learned.  But today, I’m addressing the sons of Aaron – I’m addressing people who should be able to eat from the shewbread, having entered into the sanctuary, experiencing the truth that has been given us from the Ephesus to Laodicea mindsets, coming back to Jerusalem – and by God’s grace, marrying our “mother,” as Jerusalem which is above is the mother of us all

Coming to that place where we remain poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3-4), mourning for where we are – you see, praying for something more in our character, wanting to overcome this adversity that’s within our hearts, having meekness before God and hungering and thirsting for His righteousness (Matthew 5:5-6) – which I might add, the Lord gives us teachers who can explain God’s understanding of a thing because God has given it to them (Ephesians 4:11), and when you hunger and thirst after righteousness, not only does it mean to listen to the teacher, seek the understanding, study and so on – but you take the time to seek the Lord on your knees, quietly before God, being honest with yourself, seeking the Lord for meanings of your life, seeking the Lord to help you understand – you see, hungering and thirsting after God’s understanding, and then loving mercy (Matthew 5:7-8).

These things lead you to a pureness of heart and someone that brings forth peace (Mathew 5:9) – peace out of the essence of who you are, because you’re receiving the knowledge of God and the various avenues that He has given you.  When that happens, when you are a bringer forth of peace, you are in “Jerusalem,” the habitation of peace, and to cleave to that mindset, to cleave to that city, you people who have been getting the studies, having the opportunity to learn as the Lord has been revealing it, you have a responsibility to walk in that mindset.  Jesus lays it out in the Beatitudes, in Matthew, chapter 5 – that is the mindset we need to be in if we’re going to grow in our understanding, as the Lord teaches us.  Today I have things to share with you that are verses that really, I believe, pinpoint things for me.  It makes things come alive for me, and again, I feel like the Lord has given me tools to pass to you.

You know, I think of the people in these denominations – I don’t know what exactly they think they’re gleaning from the teachers that they have, and as I look at these fellows on television who are supposed to be the cream of the crop, I listen to them – really, what they teach is a form of either getting control of your thinking and being disciplined to follow the words of the book, or they’re teaching a doctrine that says:  You’re forgiven, don’t worry about it, just try to do the best you can.  Either way, they teach you how to live with your problems and to believe you are forgiven and quote “saved.”  The message we have is completely different.  I know, according to the scriptures and according to my conscience, God is not imputing any one of us with sin (2 Corinthians 5:19) – that is what we do to ourselves, and I know that if we let Him, He will send us the refreshing, and will take away, lift up the sin and iniquity within us (Acts 3:19).

Everything we do in our lives, we make a record of it – that “record” is stored between our ears and in Revelation, chapter 6, you see that sealed book being opened so that He might reveal us to us.  At the end of the Bible, at the end of Revelation, you see the wicked stand before God, or the dead stand before God and all of their books are opened (Revelation 20:12).  You see, we have that opportunity to be cleansed now, and as we come to an understanding of God, as we grow in our understanding of God’s character, His true character, that is what makes you holy – that is what sets your mind apart as you receive the truth in Jesus Christ.  And, as you look at that sealed book being opened, you reach a place where everything is changed in the heavens.  Now, I’m going to talk about something, get into something that will lead into the heavens, the earth, and the sea – but before I do, I want to talk about the essence of our salvation, as we understand the character of God.

God is love – to manifest His character is to manifest love (1 John 4:8), and I want to read some texts that, I believe, bring this out in such a beautiful way.  I’ll tell you, I love the scriptures and I love the time the Lord gives me when I sit down to study and, in prayer and quietness, He reveals scriptures to me – and I can hardly wait to get with you and tell you:  This is what the Lord has shown me.  Again, I know we’re building on truths from the past.  If a person isn’t keeping up with those truths, then the scriptures I’m going to read won’t have the same meaning.  It definitely will not have the same effect on you that it’s having on me, or on others who understand what the Lord is saying.  I can only pray that your heart is open to the moving of the Spirit – it will be, if you are poor in spirit, mourning for where you are, meek, hungering and thirsting for God’s understanding, loving mercy, being pure in heart and being one of those people that brings forth peace.

Peace of mind – think about it… think of the stress that we have had as the world has given us its input.  Think of the stress that all of us have carried all of our lives and realize it is that stress stemming from anger, bitterness… stemming from you don’t feel good about yourself – whatever it is, it is that stress that is causing your immune system to break down and be diseased.  That is why I said on a tape several months ago, your immune system is the fruit of the Spirit:  Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance – that’s your immune system (Galatians 5:22-23).  The closer you can get to the Lord, now listen, and recognize the love He has for you… the closer you can get to Him, the stronger you will be physically, to live a life void of disease.  Our God is love; our God is our Father.  I’m a father – I know how much I love my children, which gives me a slight taste of how much my Father loves me… because bringing forth His only begotten Son, bringing forth one Son, using that Son as an expression of love for us – you see, there is a scripture that says God could of these stones raise up children unto Abraham (Luke 3:8).  He couldn’t raise up children unto Abraham spiritually – He could physically raise up children unto Abraham (literally, but not spiritually), because He has given you a free will, and He is not going to violate your free will.  Spiritually speaking, “children of Abraham” are those who believe, those who receive, those who are walking in the steps of Abraham, those who are believing without seeing – those who are hearing the voice of God and following in the steps of Abraham (Romans 9:7-8).  God cannot spiritually raise up a child of Abraham without your cooperation – a free will is vital if you’re going to understand God’s love (Romans 4:12 ).

So, here we have children of Abraham, spiritual children of Abraham – the Lord loving us as His own children.  The closer we can get to Him, the more of His love we will feel – I want to feel it.  I know God is very affectionate toward every one of us – Fear not little flock…it’s the Father’s will to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32 ).  Friend, His “kingdom” is His understanding – I want His understanding.  I want to understand how much He loves me.  For Scott Stanley , that begins at the foot of the cross, and if I can remain poor in spirit, mourning… you know, wanting more development in my character, this adversity within my heart – I long for the day that it’s gone.  I long for the day that I don’t have that rising up; I long for the day that when it begins to happen, I catch it instantly and put it away, and not let the adversity overcome me – drawing closer to Him, letting Him reveal to me who I am, receiving His love, and you know, once I get it, once I understand how much He loves me, I will know how much He loves you.

I want to know why He loves us this way – so much so, He lets the only begotten die for the firstborn, raises the only begotten from the dead that He might convince you of His love.  Now listen, for you to be convinced I don’t mean intellectually… for you to be convinced, I mean you experience either His voice, you experience that impression of the heart where He speaks and says I love you, where He speaks this is the truth, this is why I brought forth a Son, and when that happens to you and the reality of His love happens to you, you become His child – not because you’ve read a verse, not an intellectual thing… because you know He is speaking to you, you feel that love and you know I am a child of God.  That is where I pray that we’re headed – well, if you can get that, if you can retain that, your attitude toward me and others will change, and all of this worldly stuff that bothers you, all of these things – the grudges that you carry, all of these things… the anger and so on, fall away as meaningless.  There’s no reason for it – you let it go.

When you are a child of God, truly, there’s nothing in this world that’s going to reach out and grab you like that – you can deal with lies, cheating… you can deal with the backstabbing.  You can deal with all of these things because you’re not receiving your value from me or anyone in this church – anything in this world.  Your value comes from knowing the love of God.  That’s what it’s ultimately all about – that is, I pray, where you’re headed in your walk with Jesus Christ – knowing the love of God by means of experience.

REDEEMED

Now, I’d like to ask you to turn in your Bibles with me to 1 Peter, chapter 1 – it helps if you read along.  I’ll be putting the words on the screen, but it really helps if you see it in your own Bible, and especially after the study is over, make notes, go back – read this yourself.  Be quiet before the Lord – let Him minister to you… learn to hear God as you read the scriptures.

Before I get into this, I’ve got to say this about the scriptures – it truly is the shewbread; it truly is for Aaron and his sons, and I know I have put in past studies how that shewbread had “two stacks of six,” and I see two persons there, two sixes there – but it’s also bread taken from the twelve tribes.  Not only do I see the Son of God (Old Testament, New Testament as He moved on these prophets to write what they did), but the prophets were of the “children of Israel .”  Remember, Israel has wrestled with the angel, has entered into the abiding truth and had their “name” changed from Jacob, the “supplanter,” to Israel .  So, not only are there “two sixes,” but there are twelve loaves, and I see the twelve tribes.  And I see this book with sixty-six books, all given us from the children of Israel , all coming through the Christ as He spoke through these prophets what God revealed to Him.  I see the two sixes, I see the twelve; I see the sixty-six books and I see the “moon” as a symbol of it, because there is no light from instruction of the children of Israel except you listen to the voice of God.  Reading from 1 Peter, chapter 1, I want to begin reading at verse 13:

1 Peter 1:13-16

 13 ¶ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the [revealing] of Jesus Christ; [Future grace, future impressions of the heart as Christ is revealed to you.]

 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to [your] former lusts [which you had in] your ignorance:  [Now, that means more than just sex, food, so on… your “former lusts” also include the anger that you carry – your attitude of vengeance and the bitterness.]

 15 … as he which [has] called you is holy [or is “set apart” from the world], so [you] be [set apart] in all manner of [conduct]; [King James put “conversation” – old English for “conduct.”]

 16 Because it is written, [You be set apart]; for I am [set apart].

If I am going to receive my truth from my heavenly Father through that prophet, His only begotten Son, the Christ… and if I let His truth come into me, I am going to be set apart, even as He is set apart.  That isn’t going to happen to me if I read the book and put my own interpretation to it.  For me to be set apart as He is set apart, I have got to have His understanding which sets us apart from the way the world thinks…. And, verse 17:

1 Peter 1:17-18

 17 And if [you] call on the Father, who without respect of persons [judges] according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

 18 Forasmuch as [you] know [you perceive] that [you] were not redeemed [or cut loose] with corruptible things, [like] silver and gold, from your vain [conduct] received by tradition from your fathers;

Stop… What are you “redeemed” from?  What are you cut loose from?  Let me read that verse again and leave out everything in between.

1 Peter 1:18

 18 [You know you] were not [cut loose] with corruptible things, … from your vain [conduct which you] received [from] your fathers.

Think about the way you act.  Think about the way you act… the way you respond.  Consider the way you respond and remember the way your family responds – your literal, earthly family.  God is trying to cut us loose from our conduct which we received from our fathers.  We had many fathers – there are many people in our lives who impacted us – we are to be redeemed from that.  He doesn’t say you’re redeemed from God the Father’s anger; you’re redeemed from God’s wrath – even though allowing Him to cut you loose from your vain conduct saves you from the wrath to come, that’s true.  It also saves you from your wrath to come.  The Lord is trying to set us apart from the world as He is set apart – He is longsuffering; He is merciful; He is very generous; He is kind.  He is love, and if I’m walking in that love, let me tell you, I definitely will be bringing forth peace out of the very essence of who I am.  Peace will spring up, and I can let that peace guide me.  I can live in peace, I can stay in peace, but we need to understand we are to be redeemed from our vain conduct.

GOD’S LOVE

Now, I used to think that meant I just tried harder not to be angry; I tried harder not to be “bad.”  Well, I’m not saying, “Don’t try.”  What I’m saying is, let’s shift a gear and understand we have different tools that will help us overcome the bitterness and anger.  We have different tools now, and the Lord is planting a garden in us that is going to continue to bear more and more fruit the longer we let the garden grow.  There is another way of focusing our attention and making an effort to overcome.  You don’t simply stop doing these things because the book says don’t do it.  You get a handle on what adversity is; you get a handle at what was done for you at CalvaryThis is how adversity is cast down.  Let’s look at the next verse – let me read 18 again, because 19 really goes right with it:

1 Peter 1:18-20

 18 Forasmuch as [you] know that [you] were not redeemed [or cut loose] with corruptible things, [like] silver and gold, from your vain [conduct which you] received by tradition from your fathers;

 19 But [you were redeemed – cut loose] with the precious blood of Christ, as … a lamb without blemish and without spot:  [You see, something about the “blood” cuts you loose from your way of acting, which you received from the world – there’s something about that blood.  Verse 20…]

 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, …

Stop… You’ve been redeemed by the blood of Christ, who was foreordained to redeem you before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.  Now, let me tell you something about that verse.  Before we were created, Christ was ordained to die for you, as the way of cutting you loose.  What that says to me:  The Father saw me before He birthed His Son because Exodus, chapter 4 says:  Israel is His firstborn.  Peter is telling you [that] Christ was foreordained to die, to set you free.  In the Father’s eyes, in the Father’s makeup, in the Father’s character, in the Father’s wisdom, in God’s knowledge – He has taken everything about you and put it between you ears.  Who you are is between your ears and, by doing this (because this is true), all of the scriptures are dealing with something between your ears.  “Salvation” happens between your ears.  The Son of God was foreordained to cut you loose from your conduct received from the world, before the world was – He was foreordained before the world was.  Did the Father see the problem?  Yes.  Did He see the answer?  Yes.  Does He love you?  Yes – because we are why He birthed a Son.

Again, think about it:  He could “of these stones raise up children unto Abraham,” but if He wants to have someone love Him and be a “spiritual son” of Abraham, He needs to convince you of His love. He could “create” millions of people, but He birthed one Son – then created the people and used the one Son as an expression of His love for all of us.  I guess He could have birthed millions of people – He birthed one.  He created a race of people… He created the human race and by birthing one Son and letting us tear Him to pieces, He can say to you:  “I’ve allowed that because I love you both the same.”  When you think of how wicked you are, how demented you’ve been, the way you would verbalize your anger against God, the way in your past maybe you came against what you understood to be the church and the children of God and the bitterness and anger that you have – see I’m speaking of my own heart.  Think of how bitter you were and the Lord allowing that so that He could say:  “Because I love you the same as my only begotten Son.”  See, that love needs to come in and fill us up.  We need to hear Him speak His love and live according to that love, and come into unity with our Father as He leads our brother and manifests His love toward us daily – we need to learn to see the signs of His love and to experience it.

PURIFY YOUR SOUL

1 Peter, chapter 1, verse 21:

1 Peter 1:21-22

 21 Who by him [by Christ, we] believe in God, that raised him … from the dead, and gave him glory; [so] that your faith [what God is teaching you, your faith…] and hope [would] be in God.  [That was the purpose for the Son – to turn you to His Father.]

 22 Seeing [you’ve] purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that [you] love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Now stop:  This is one of those verses that I have read over and over and over, and missed the point he was making – the point is huge.  Look at this:  Seeing [you] have purified your souls – stop.  I don’t believe there is one of us that doesn’t want to purify his soul – that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?  That’s what it’s all about – to purify our souls.  We’ve tried every way imagined… we’ve tried to do it with food.  We’ve tried to do it – Well, you can’t watch movies, you can’t dress this way, you can’t smoke, you can’t go to these places, you can’t listen to this stuff, you can’t eat like that, you can’t talk like that.  You see, we had thought all of that is going to purify our souls.  Well, look at what Peter has written concerning that – let’s look at this again:

1 Peter 1:22

 22 Seeing [you] have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit [seeing you’ve purified your souls in obeying the truth] unto unfeigned love of the brethren…

Stop.  How do your purify soul?  Loving the brethren.  As you obey God through the Spirit, it leads to unfeigned love – love without hypocrisy.  Listen, there is no such thing as hearing God, being in His perfect will and not loving the brethren – there’s no such thing.  There’s no such thing as loving God and not loving me.  There’s no such thing as being obedient to God and not loving me.  How are you going to purify your soul?  Hearing God through the Spirit, obeying through the Spirit and loving your brother.  I want to tie this in with Colossians, chapter 1 – I want to begin reading in verse 9:

Colossians 1:9-11

 9 ¶ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that [you] might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

 10 That [you] might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing [Now remember, if you’re going to walk worthy of the Lord, you’re going to walk in love], [that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing] being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in [God’s knowledge];

 11 Strengthened with all might [that word “might” is [1411] translated power or ability], [Strengthened with all ability] according to his glorious [strength], unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

Now consider with me:  If you are strengthened unto all patience and longsuffering – those are two things it’s going to take to love one another.  You’ve got to be patient and you’ve got to be longsuffering.  Has somebody hurt your feelings?  Has somebody stepped on your toes?  Well, to what extent do you take it?  To what extent are you going to take that?  And what does it mean, “I’m not going to take it anymore”?  Well, what do you do then?  What happens to you if you decide, Well, OK, this is enough.  God doesn’t want me to be longsuffering anymore than I already have.  I’m going to do something.  OK, what are you going to do?  What is it the Lord would have you do to take care of your problem?

Your problem begins in your own heart.  When the love of God so fills your heart, it isn’t going to matter what anyone says, what anyone does, because the Lord loves you – He loves you and He loves them.  He isn’t imputing their sin to them – you’re imputing their sin to them.  He isn’t charging you with your sin – you are charging you with your sin.  The whole idea is to allow God to so give you an understanding that you can let go of the anger and bitterness you have toward yourself and accept yourself, and know God accepts you and then let it go toward everyone else.  Christ on the cross – Forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing.  I read on the internet the other day that that was an intercessory prayer – He was telling His Father:  “Oh, forgive them…they don’t know what they’re doing.”  I’ll tell you, that isn’t an intercessory prayer – He was expressing His heart:  “Father forgive them.  They don’t know what they’re doing,” and the Father would be saying, “That’s right, I’ve known this from the very beginning – you’re learning that.”  That was an expression of Christ’s understanding of humanity – they don’t know what they’re doing.

Now, they had taken Him, of course, and nailed Him on boards, stripped Him naked, beaten Him, belittled Him to the utmost – Oh yeah, but I guess you were belittled more than that… well, I don’t think so.  And His attitude was forgive them…they don’t know what they’ve done – they don’t know what they’re doing to Me.  They don’t know what they’re doing.  And then, it’s finished.  You see, I believe Christ, in the garden of Gethsemane , came to that point of understanding that He is going to go through with this death and all that that means, to give His Father the opportunity to say how much He loves us – but your works perfect your faith.  So He had to go from Gethsemane to Calvary – He had to do that, and I believe it was on that cross [that] the reality really came home to Him… how much His Father loved these soldiers, loved John and Mary, loved even Caiaphas – loved all of these people.  This is how much He loves them – how much?  So much that He was willing to forsake His only begotten to manifest the love He has for the firstborn – and Jesus, experiencing that truth said, “It’s finished.”  I believe that could be another way of saying, “I’ve got it… I understand it.  I’m experiencing, Father, you really love these people.”

To what extent do you love me?  How long are you going to be longsuffering?  How long are you going to carry your bitterness?  How long are you going to be angry?  Because when we do this to one another, you’re not expressing God; you’re not expressing some great wisdom of theology of how great you are – you’re expressing adversity.  What the Lord would have the 144,000 do is take the “key to the abyss” and the “chain” and bind that adversity and have the attitude you will deceive me no more at all, and lay it down.  But you know what it takes?  It takes humility to lay this down – it takes a lot of humility to lay this down and leave it alone.  The bitterness and anger you carry only causes stress and guilt.  That will only have an adverse affect on your health, on your weight, on the anger you have toward yourself – guilt brings fear.  It’s hard to serve God living in fear – perfect love will cast that out.  What is “perfect” love?  He loves me the way I am, and He’s going to help me change as He gives me revelations of Himself – not that I’m going to discipline my mind and stop doing this… He is going to reveal Himself to me and I’m going to apply these truths – and what He reveals about me, I’m going to come to an understanding of it and let that change, make every effort to learn more and let this change.

SEED

Looking back at 1 Peter, chapter 1, reading verse 22 again:

1 Peter 1:22-23

 22 Seeing [you] have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto […which led unto] unfeigned love of the brethren, see that [you] love one another with a pure heart fervently:

 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed …

... Not being born of corruptible seed – put the “seed” inward… the things placed in your brain, starting from the womb as you receive the emotions of your mother, as you grow up not knowing God – Gleaning what you’ve gleaned from the world… coming to the point as the Lord declares it in Genesis 1:  The whole earth is just covered with the waters of the sea.  That’s all you possess.  Being born again – let’s do this again, he says… this time not of corruptible seed…

1 Peter 1:23

 23 …but of incorruptible [how?], [well] by the word of God, which [lives] and [abides] for ever.

Do you know what happens to me now when I see this word “seed”?  Well, I take this back to Isaiah 53.  Remember (and this is an important concept, because we’re going to get into this in a minute), how the Hebrew – every Hebrew word is rooted in a verb – a three letter verb.  By taking that verb, they build all the meanings from the verb.  What the King James has translated “seed” comes from the verb to sew.  To be more literal, when you see “seed” you could say that which was sown – “to sow”… well, that which was sown – Isaiah 53 (Isaiah 53:10).  When you make Him the guilt, when you can look at Him and see the guilt, you will see that which was sown – you’ll see seed.  In what?  In us… that which was sown in you is hanging on that cross.  What is it?  Darkness, nakedness, thorns are pricking you – that which was sown.  You can look and see, well, this is what was sown… He has become sin.  He is forsaken of God – the Father isn’t there for Him.  That which was sown – when you see that, He is expressing your heart.  You don’t want to cling to that stuff!  You don’t want to hang on to that stuff – that is the stuff that has killed us.  That is what makes you sick; that is why you are who you are, because you’ve clung to that which was sown.  We need to let it go – someone needs to come along and “sow” something different.  The kingdom of God is when the man goes out sowing to sow.  God’s understanding – that is what we desperately need, and to let go of the world.

1 Peter 1:23-24

 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which [lives] and [abides] for ever.

 24 ¶ … all flesh is [like the] grass, … the glory of man [is like] the flower of grass.

Why is “all flesh like grass”?  Grass is green – “green” is a symbol of righteousness.  The “grass” on the “earth” covers the earth – you could say that the things that you thought gave you righteousness… what you thought righteousness was is like the grass that’s covered your “earth” – the “earth” is who you are.  You see, when the Lord comes into your life, He pushes the “sea” away, separates the “sea” and brings forth “dry land” – He lets you see the “earth” (this is who you are).  “Grass” is that righteousness that covers the earth – it’s what you think is right.  The flowers and the grass, oh, they’re so pretty – they smell so good… that’s the “glory” of man.  But, the grass withers.  God will send His Spirit and wither the grass and the flower of the grass fails…

1 Peter 1:25

 25 But the word of the Lord [endures] for ever [the rhema of the Lord will endure forever]. And this is the [rhema] … the gospel … unto you. [King James put:  This is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  This is the “word,” the gospel unto you – those other words are not there.]

The “good news” unto you:  God’s word, the thoughts, the truths contained in His mind are life and they endure forever… that’s what it means – to endure forever.  God’s words are life – this is the good news.  He’s giving it to you.  You start off with “manna,” you enter into the “bread,” and then it becomes “bread only for Aaron and his sons.”  Let’s be on that level.

COLOSSIANS 1:11-14

Now, a few minutes ago we were in Colossians, chapter 1, looking at “all patience and longsuffering” as that is a result of walking in the knowledge of God, being strengthened by His glory, but let’s go back to Colossians 1, and let’s read and finish off this thought that we started – Colossians, chapter 1, let’s read verse 11 again:

Colossians 1:11-12

 11 Strengthened with all [ability – all power], according to his glorious [strength], [which leads] unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

 12 ¶ Giving thanks unto the Father, which [has] made us [able] to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

You know, I’ve got to say the “fruit of the Spirit” again – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.  Look at those words – consider every one of those words.  Take the time… just stop – go out on a walk, think about each one of those words.  Meditate on them; consider them.  When you consider them and open your heart to the voice of Christ, He will help bring understanding to you because not only, you see, is that what you need to love me – that is what you need to love me, that is what you need to serve God, and that is why it is your immune system and health to your bones… health to your flesh, because it brings the Spirit of Him who raised Christ from the dead and He will quicken even your mortal flesh.

Listen, if you’re going to heaven, if you’re going to be there, you’re going to do this then – let’s do it now.  Let’s receive the rewards of righteousness now and have peace now; have love now.

Colossians 1:12

 12 ¶ [Our heavenly Father has] made us meet [or made us able] to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

He’s made you able, now, to be a partaker of that.  You see, when you first enter into this thing, you’re not able – you’re carrying a lot of baggage; you’re carrying a lot of doctrinal stuff that won’t let you be like Christ.  Even though you try as hard as you can with the book, you’re not going to be like Christ.  Two phases to your salvation:  Doctrinal healing and emotional healing.  The truth of who God is, revealing the truth of your nature, the doctrinal truths – the Father can take those things and heal us emotionally… we’ll walk in love.  The Father has made us able to receive the inheritance.  Verse 13:

Colossians 1:13

 13 Who [has (past tense)] delivered [you] from the [authority] of darkness [Now remember the principalities and powers?  Well, one of the “powers,” one of the “authorities” is that of the darkness that we’ve walked in, but when He reveals His character to us, He is shining the light on you.  He’s delivered you from that authority of the darkness, and has already] translated us into the kingdom of his … Son:

The kingdom – the understanding – of His Son:  What “understanding”?  The understanding He has given us of His Father’s love.  That’s what’s delivering you from darkness.  That’s what makes you able to inherit the blessings.  See the truth of the cross – understand the truth of God’s love.  I said one time, I was out on a walk and I got this flash in my mind… I was praying (I can’t remember now exactly all that was going on), but I got this picture of our Father sitting in a chair and He was leaning on one arm, leaning forward, reaching for me – total, absolute concern on His face – but love... not challenging me, not threatening me – nothing threatening about it.  He had a small figure – I’m not saying, now, I had a vision and this is what God looks like, but this was a picture that came to me – this picture of my Father.  It isn’t this big giant on a throne with fire and flames leaping out, and light and all…  He’s reaching for each one of us.  It isn’t anything to be afraid of – it’s something to have respect for.  To respect Him is to “fear” Him and allow Him to lead you in your life.  He has delivered us from the authority of darkness, translated us into the understanding of His Son… (Colossians 1:13 )

Colossians 1:14

 14 In whom [in the Son] we have [a cutting loose] through his blood, even the [remission] of sins: …

King James put “forgiveness”… it’s remission.  Go through and mark those in your bibles – the “remission” of sin.  You see, He defines it doesn’t he?  “A cutting loose through his blood, the remission of sins.”

LIFE AND BLOOD

The “blood” cuts us loose – I want to key on the blood.  To do so, I want to start by asking you to turn to Exodus 31, and in Exodus 31, I want to read verse 17:

Exodus 31:17

 17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel [notice it’s the children of Israel ] for ever: … in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Now, what does this have to do with the blood?  The way this verse ends, “and was refreshed” … that is one word.  The Strong’s number is [5314] and it literally means to take a breath.  Remember, every Hebrew word is rooted in a verb – this is a root word – [5314].  We could read it:  And on the seventh day He rested and took a breath.  That literally is what the word means, and I think back to when I thought I was keeping the ten commandments and I would think, Wow, you know, all week long I’ve done what I’ve done and when the Sabbath gets here, I’m going to take a breath.  I can stop and take a breath – I can rest.  The word means “take a breath.”  Now, what is significant about that and how is it applied to blood?  [5314] is the root of [5315].  [5315] is translated soul throughout the Old Testament – it’s translated life and soul.  The root means to take a breath.  If I were to say it in a more literal way, “soul” would be the breath taken – it’s the breath.

Strong’s Hebrew Number

[5314] “To take a breath”

Is the root of [5315] “soul”

Now, in the New Testament, when you come to the Greek, “psuche” (psoo-khay) is soul and it means psyche.  Well, I want you to think about it – I always take everything to the Old Testament – I take it all back to the Hebrew thought and when I think of taking a breath, this breath goes into my bloodstream, and some of the breath comes back out.  But with this breath I’m able to reveal what’s in my mind.  In Leviticus 17, the Lord equates the “soul” or the “breath” to the blood, and remember, we’ve been cut loose by the blood of Christ.  This is what gives us the remission of sin.  So I want to turn to Leviticus 17, and I want to read this and just stay true as much as I can to the word meanings as I read this, and see what kind of picture comes to your mind when I read this.  Leviticus 17, verse 11 – now let me read it the way the King James has written it:

Leviticus 17:11

11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that [makes] atonement for the soul.

All right – in this verse, [5315] is in here three times… it’s translated life and soul.  Two times “soul,” one time “life.”  Let me go back and read this with a more literal verbalization of it:

Leviticus 17:11

 11 For the [breath] of the flesh is in the blood: …

Think about it:  We know literally that is true.  The breath of the flesh is in the blood, but I want to spiritualize this.  What does it mean “in the flesh”?  That’s another way of saying “carnal.”  The breath of my carnality is in the blood.  Now, you see, I’m kind of getting ahead of myself, but I feel like I need to – I want you to see this point.  We’re going to read in a minute where the “blood” is the soul and if I look at this, the breath of the flesh is in my blood – the breath of the flesh is in my soul.  Your “soul” is the record of who you are.  Now, this breath taken, you see, I received the breath of the world and it is in my soul – all of the things taught, all of the things given, all of the words spoken, all of the attitudes, all of the language – body language, everything from the world has been received into my soul.  The breath of the flesh is in your soul.  Now look at what he says:

Leviticus 17:11

 11 … I have given it to you upon the altar…

OK, “it” – I have given “it” to you.  Let me just read “it” – let me leave out the word “it” and just put it in there.

Leviticus 17:11

 11 For the [breath] of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given [the breath of the flesh] to you upon the altar …

“Altar” is the noun of the word sacrifice in the Hebrew.  “Sacrifice” means to slaughter – King James put “altar” for the place of slaughter, you see.  The verb is “to slaughter,” the noun would be “the place of slaughter” – King James put “sacrifice” and “altar.”  Let me read this again:

Leviticus 17:11

 11 For the [breath] of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given [the breath of the flesh] to you upon the [place of slaughter] to make [a covering] for your [breath]: [it’s] the blood that [makes a covering] for the [breath].

There are so many ways to play off of what we’ve just read and I want to just discuss this with you a little bit, and try to express what I’m seeing here.  As I look at the breath of the world – the words I’ve received, all of the meanings the world has given me for life… one of the big ones is “look out for number one,” see, take care of number one – when I look at the breath of the world and the Lord tells me:  Well, at the place of slaughter I’ve given you the breath of the flesh to make a covering for your breath, you see.  In the sanctuary you see the hard, dark, thorny wood covered with gold. You think of your sins covered with blood – blood is carrying the breath.  The breath of Christ covers my breath so that the words I speak will be His.  The Lord gave this to me at the place of slaughter.

Now, another symbol for an “altar” is your heart.  When Chris died on Golgotha , that was the “place of the skull.”  It’s at this place He makes a covering for your breath, and I see that from the New Testament it cuts me loose from the life I received from my fathers – you see, there’s that breath, isn’t it?  There’s the breath of the flesh and God is going to cover me – cover my breath with this breath.  Now, let me keep reading… verse 12:

Leviticus 17:12-14

 12 Therefore I said unto the children of Israel [don’t miss that], No soul [or no breath] of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that [sojourns] among you eat blood.

 13 And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel , or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which [hunts] and [catches] any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall … pour out the blood [of it], and cover it with dust [because “dust” is a symbol of self and the blood of a person is dust.  You take the blood and cover it with dust.  Now look at verse 14 – this is key:].

 14 For it is the life [or the “soul” or the “breath”] of all flesh; the blood of it is for the [breath] … [Now stop:  The blood is for the breath.  What is your blood for?  It is to carry the oxygen – it is to carry my breath – the blood is for the breath.  Now look at what he says…]: therefore I said unto the children of Israel , [Don’t] eat the blood of [any] manner of flesh: for the [breath] of all flesh is the blood …

Now, don’t let this confuse you – let me simplify this.  The blood is for the breath, therefore the breath is the blood – you see, we do this every day.  I think of having, say, a glass of milk and I set it down and I ask, “Has anyone seen my milk?”  See, I don’t have to say, “The glass of milk” – the glass is the milk.  You see, in my mind, if I get the glass, I’ve got my milk.  The blood (the glass) is for … see, the blood is for the breath – the glass is for the milk, therefore I said unto you the breath is the blood; the milk is the glass.  Listen, let me just keep expanding this:  The mind is for the thoughts.  The mind controls the water of thought, it contains the water of thought… the mind is the thought.  When you look at the way a person thinks, he is that thought – as a man thinks in his heart (No!)… It’s “soul,” so is he (Proverbs 23:7).  The mind is for the thoughts.  The mind is for the breath, the soul – the mind is the soul.

HEAVENS, EARTH, SEA

Consider the heavens, earth and sea – the earth contains the sea.  “Earth” is who you are; the “sea” is the world.  You are of the world; the world is in you, you see?  Take it another step:  The “heavens” contain the earth.  Now, the “heavens” equal God’s understanding.  You see, when you first come to the Lord, the way you think God perceives things is your “heavens.”  The “heavens” contain the “earth” – the “heavens” are the “earth.”  Consider it.  When the Lord opens your “book” and begins to open the seals and reveal who you are, by that sixth seal, as He reveals your “heavens” to you, the “sun” turns black, the “moon” turns blood red.  The “stars” of heaven fall and He shuts the heavens as a scroll when it’s rolled together – why?  Because your “heavens” were created by you – your own understanding… some of it you received from the world; most of it you got from the books.  His promise to you is to give you a “new heaven” and a “new earth” and there’ll be no more “sea” – no more input from the world.  When He gives you a new heaven, you now have correct “sunshine” coming down on the “earth” – pure water from heaven coming down into the “earth,” bringing life to the seed and pure wind, pure Spirit, you see?

His promise to you:  Give you a new heaven and a new earth.  So the sixth seal, you see Him replacing the heavens (He’s giving you a new heaven), then you see 144,000 sealed.  Then you see Him dumping the “coals of fire” from that altar into the earth, you see.  If He’s going to renew the earth, He renews it with fire.  “Fire” happens at Pentecost when you’re baptized with the baptism of fire.  You see, this is what I’ve been wanting and trying to share, tape after tape, study after study, that you go through that process of crying out to God:  Help me and He says, OK, let’s change the way you think – sun, moon, the stars fall, heavens close; let’s change the way you’re understanding Me… let’s change this.  If you want to be saved from your adversity, He says, let’s change the way you perceive Me.  This is doctrinal.

After going through that change, He then can take the fire and pour it into the earth and change the earth – that’s emotional.  He changes who you are.  And “fire” not only will burn the “earth,” it dries up the water of the “sea.”  See, that is that process of salvation and when I read now in the New Testament, “I am redeemed by the blood” – you see, there is a depth of meaning there that just blows me away because of Leviticus 17… the blood is for the breath; the breath is the blood – I’ve given you the breath of flesh at the place of slaughter so I can cover your breath, and by God’s grace, this is the healing I need to go forward in my life and be made in the image of Jesus, who is the image of the invisible God.

A promise to us:  He that overcomes will sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame and sit with my Father on His throne – given to Laodicea .  You see, I don’t want Band-Aids put on my character – I want to get to the root of it.  I don’t want to learn to live with my problems… I want the problem to be rooted out and I want to stand before God in love unblameable, unrebukable – standing before God, perceiving His love for me and allowing that love to heal my heart and my wounds.  Now see, one thing we do to each other – we keep creating more wounds.  I’m not going to let you wound me; I’m not going to let you do that to me, and I’m not going to allow this adversity to rise up and get in your face, if I can help it.  We are to come together and provoke one another into love.  Some of you want to provoke to anger – you want to hurt… you speak maliciously – it’s got to stop.  You’re killing yourself with that attitude.  You’re not going to defile the body of Christ – God will destroy anyone who tries to defile the “body of Christ.”  Well, how do you think you’re going to defile it except with your words and actions – trying to cause hurt feelings; trying to belittle.

Let God’s love fill you up and get away from adversity – lay down your pride… get away from adversity.  Be a blessing to the children of God.  Be an encouragement – be like Christ.  Let the Father be glorified in His church – I pray that He is glorified in His church.
