(All bracketed [ ] words inserted into the following scriptures are the author’s paraphrase.) INTRODUCTION This is the third attempt I have made to record this study, to get these things laid out in such a manner that I believe anyone can understand. The concepts that we are covering today are going to be different, I know. We’re going to read verses in the Bible that, for some of you, you’ve studied for many years, yet I know you’ve never seen it covered this way. For some of you, this may be the first time that you have read these verses. This may be something you’ve never really had an opinion about, and I can only pray the Lord give me the words to keep this interesting enough to you, that you would be able to stay with me and get through this study. I want to say from the outset that you have got to be spending time in this book, the Bible. You have got to be spending time reading these things for yourself. For me to stand up and say what I’m going to say – you may be able to follow me and you may be in agreement as I say it, but you need to spend time with the Lord yourself reading these things, covering these things and letting the Lord impress your heart, hence hearing the voice of God, receiving the "faith" or the understanding of Christ. It makes no difference what I say. It means everything if the Lord impresses your heart that it’s true – and then you can sit down with the book, with an open heart toward God, letting Him touch you. I continue to have things in my mind that I have been told over the years – some things I try to combat. One of them is: You don’t need to be studying the Bible... all you have to do is listen to God. Listen to God, abide in Christ, and all of these things will be fulfilled in you. That is untrue. There is a reason why the Lord gave us this book. It isn’t for me to simply read it and tell you what it says - it’s for you to read. This book is written for "those upon whom the end of the world is come." You might be saved into God’s kingdom having never read a verse, but you will not reach a completed perfection having never read a verse. What the Lord has laid on my heart, as Ephesians 4 tells us, the Lord has given us prophets, apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers – I see myself as an evangelist, as a Bible teacher, instructing those who have "ears to hear." I see myself studying the scriptures, allowing the Lord to move in my heart, give me definitions, and then passing those definitions to you, so you can sit down and read the very same thing – apply the definitions given, so the Lord can begin to reveal you to you. That is what needs to happen. I want to read some verses out of the Bible that I have studied for years and, to be perfectly honest, this is the first time I have ever made a tape saying the things I’m going to say. Now this study is entitled Of Finished Proportions, The Ram of God, and it’s Part 2. The study that I sent out last time – Of Finished Proportions, Part 1, The Temple of Matthew 24 – what I’m going to share with you today, I didn’t know then. There are things I’m going to tell you that I’m basing on things the Lord has just revealed to me, and I can look back at Matthew 24, and look back at that tape I made, and I can see – well, this was a step needed for what I want to share today. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want to go back, read Daniel 8 again, read Daniel 9 again – this time with a tweak to it – something that I didn’t posses before; something I didn’t have a handle on before. When we read Daniel 8 and we see this prophecy of a "ram," the "he goat," the "horn breaking into four parts," the "four winds of heaven," the "little horn coming out of one of these four horns" – when we read these prophecies, for me, in my denominational background, I had been given an explanation of what these things meant. I really didn’t know enough to refute it, and I would study these prophecies historically, I would study these prophecies as outward events. Well, the Lord has since shown me how to make this an inward thing. And I’ve got to say that portions of what we’re going to look at, the Lord had begun to reveal to me, and it was so far off from what I had ever been told in my life that I began to shy away from it and I thought, well, maybe this is getting too far out – maybe this isn’t the Lord impressing my heart – and I began to doubt. Then I got a letter, a study in the mail, from Nick Campbell. This man lives in Canada and, low and behold, the man had laid out, in the beginning of his study anyway, exactly what the Lord had been showing me. And it was like confirmation to my soul that this was true – causing me then to go back and re-read these prophecies – hence, the study today. I’ve got to say again – when I made the last study, when I made part one of this study, I did not intend to say what I’m going to share with you today. Now part of it, when we get into Leviticus 16, I did, but not the way I’m going to build up to Leviticus 16. So without further explanation, I want to look at Daniel 8 – let’s begin in Daniel 8, looking at the explanation Gabriel gives to Daniel. GABRIEL Gabriel – Gabriel, that name means "a man of God." Isn’t it interesting that "Michael" is the archangel – what is "archangel"? Head messenger. What does "Messiah" mean? What does "Christ" mean? Hebrew is "Messiah" – Messiah is a Hebrew word. "Christ" is the Greek – if you translated it, it would be the anointed one. What was Christ anointed with? He was anointed with the Spirit of His Father; He was given the mind of His Father. The fact that He is Christ; the fact that He is "Messiah" makes Him the head messenger of God. How could you have Christ be Messiah and yet there’s a "head messenger of God"? When we say "archangel," we’re not saying created being – we’re saying He’s the head of the angels – He is above the angels. "Michael" is the head of the angels; Michael is the archangel; Michael is the head messenger of God; Michael is Messiah. Why didn’t our heavenly Father send the head messenger to Mary, to give her the prophecy of her bringing forth Messiah? Since He is the head messenger, doesn’t it seem odd that God didn’t send the head messenger to tell her this? Why did He send "Gabriel," a man of God? Because Gabriel fits the symbol – Gabriel – the man of God. Now listen, looking at Mary – Mary is a "virgin," she’s going to bring forth the man child. She pictures the 144,000. The 144,000 – every one of us has had a "man of God" come to us, delivering, planting in our minds "the man child" – giving us the truth that Jesus is truly the Son of God. Every one of us has had that portrayed in our life, and we have brought forth the man child, virgins unto God. Now I’m not getting into that study and explaining all those symbols of the "virgin" and so on – that’s something we’re going to get into in a future study. But let me tell you this: Gabriel, a man of God, has been sent to every one of us. I don’t mean this literal angel, Gabriel – I mean what Gabriel symbolized – and Gabriel comes to the virgin, speaks the truth of the Son of God, therefore that holy thing conceived in us was called the Son of the Highest. It’s a picture of what has happened to every one of us. THE TIME OF THE END So I come back to Daniel, and I see Gabriel coming to Daniel to give him an explanation of a vision Daniel has. Now, I’m not going to read this entire explanation that Gabriel gives, but I want you to see a point Gabriel makes concerning the vision Daniel has of the ram and the he goat. Looking at Daniel 8, starting at verse 15: Daniel 8:15-16 15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. King James put: "understand the vision" – this isn’t "understand." It’s the verb of "understand"; it is the action of "understand." When you understand, "the understanding," that is a noun. The verb that gets you there is "to consider." You consider what is being spoken; you receive understanding. Gabriel was sent to make this man "consider" the vision that he had in this chapter. Now notice, verse 17: Daniel 8:17-19 Now, I want you to consider something with me: The vision of the ram and the he goat as Gabriel explains it to Daniel – he explains this "ram" as Medo-Persia, he explains the "he goat" as Greece – but he says it’s "at the time of the end." I know, literally speaking, Medo-Persia and Greece were not at the time of the end. I know I’m at the time of the end. The time of the end is now. Look at Jeremiah 51, verse 11: Jeremiah 51:11 11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath [has] raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple. Notice that who destroys Babylon is that spirit of the kings of the Medes. You see, "Babylon" is doctrinal confusion. There are two areas in your life that you’re born confused about – you grow up being confused about: One is God; the second is about yourself. When correcting your understanding of God – that is doctrinal. To understand yourself, you have to have doctrinal understanding to heal you emotionally. Without a true understanding of your Heavenly Father, you can never be healed emotionally because that is the basis of your problem. Who conquers Babylon? The spirit of the kings of the Medes. Going back, looking at Medo-Persia, realizing they literally conquered this literal nation of Babylon, the Lord has shown us in Daniel 7 – the "lion," the "bear," the "leopard" – He has shown us Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece. He has shown us by using these animals, in giving us stories in Daniel to explain how they functioned – He has shown us "Babylon" is pride; that "lion" is pride. The "bear" is an unchanging heart and "Greece" had many gods – it’s the "leopard" with many spots. But when you come to Daniel 8, Medo-Persia isn’t a "bear" anymore – it’s a ram. Greece, well it’s not a "leopard" here – it’s a he goat. There’s a reason for that change, and there is a reason why the spirit of the kings of the Medes conquer "Babylon." To have an unchanging heart is not a bad thing, as long as you’re not swerving from truth. See, that spirit of the Medes, we need to possess it, because it is that spirit of the Medes – never changing, never altering – that we have to have in order for Babylon, or the confusion about God, to cease out of our lives. So if I come to Daniel 8 and I see, well when the man of God tells Daniel that Medo-Persia is seen as this ram – but he says it’s at "the time of the end," there is no reason why I can’t come in and say: That’s the spirit of the Medes. Having the spirit of the Medes makes this story personal; it makes it right now – my Savior once again becomes the I AM, not the "I Was" or "I will be" – I AM, I am with you now, I am healing you now, I am teaching you now, I am revealing this to you now. When we read in Daniel 8, Medo-Persia, Greece – simply apply Jeremiah 51:11 – it is the spirit of the kings of the Medes, and it is a sanctified thing in this application. THE RAM Looking at Daniel 8, I want to explain to you this "ram." How could the ram represent the spirit of the Medes – an unchanging heart? In your studies, as you have studied symbols, what have you seen in the scriptures, the ram symbolize? Well, let me give you a "for instance." Genesis 22: Abraham is going to offer Isaac and he leads his son up on the mountain, and tells his son that God will provide Himself a lamb – and he begins to raise the knife; he’s going to slay his son. The angel stops him – Abraham turns and he sees a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. That "ram" was a symbol of Christ, wasn’t it? In Leviticus, chapter 5, we see a ram is to be offered in a whole burnt offering to God – an offering to God is this ram. I want you to look at Hebrews 13, something stated about Christ. In Hebrews 13, verse 8: Hebrews 13:8 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. What is that saying? That He has an unchanging heart – He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When I read Daniel 8 and I see this ram, I am seeing Christ, the spirit of it, in my heart. Let’s read this with Christ in mind and notice what it says in Daniel 8: Daniel 8:3 3 Then I lifted up mine eyes [the eyes of my understanding], and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns [King James has put: "two horns"]: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. What is a "horn"? This word "horn," we’ve said in previous studies, traces back – the verb of it is seen when Moses goes up on the mountain and he comes down, and his face shone. That word "shone" is the verb of what the King James has translated "horn," and it means – if I were to just cut to the chase here, it means "your understanding." It’s where you have light; it is what makes you shine – it is the understanding you possess. "Horns" represent understanding. This ram had understandings – everlasting past: He was born, past eternity; born in Bethlehem – He had two understandings. The second one was "higher" than the first; the higher understanding came up last. We’re seeing the Son of God pictured here – let’s keep reading, Daniel 8: Daniel 8:4 4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. What I want to see you do is apply that to the spirit of Christ working in the human heart, and notice what happens, verse 5:
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west [if he’s coming from the west, he’s headed east – that’s self] on the face of the whole earth, and [he] touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes [or a notable understanding]. Christ tells us in Matthew 25, the parable of the sheep and the goats, that He is going to separate the sheep from the goats. The "sheep" represent the people of God; the "goats" represent those who wouldn’t receive Christ. Here we have a goat – here we have a goat and, as you read this prophecy, you’ll see this goat run into the ram with anger. Put that between your ears, put that in your own heart and I want you to see yourself when the spirit of Christ was moving on your heart at one time in your life – when you had the one horn; when you had the single horn between your eyes, that you would reject the moving of His spirit on you until that horn was "broken," until that horn was humbled. Back to Daniel 8, verse 7: Daniel 8:7 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler [anger] against him, and [he] smote the ram, and brake [broke] his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. That means you have a free will – this is no different than going to Revelation 11 and seeing people "trample underfoot the holy city." Christ cannot heal you if you choose not to let Him do it. If you choose not to receive His words and the impression of your heart that He is giving you, you are trampling underfoot the spirit of Christ. You are taking this ram and putting it to death, moving it, breaking it in your own mind, and this is what this he goat did. Next verse, verse 8: Daniel 8:8 8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. Zechariah 2 defines "the four winds of heaven" as the people of God coming out of "Babylon," beginning to come out of confusion. To be leaning toward, to be "toward the four winds of heaven" means, for me, I see a spiritual conversion. The horn is broken into four. Remember in Genesis 2, out of the garden – out of God’s garden – came a river which went to the man’s garden. A single river, a single understanding was coming from God, but when it came into the man’s garden, from there it parted into "four heads." What the Lord was revealing to the man, the man was making it earthly. When you come to the Lord and that horn is broken, that understanding that was resisting and fighting Christ – when that horn is broken, it breaks into four. It’s humbled before God, but it is taking the understanding of God and making it earthly and, if you’ll go back and read this prophecy, I’m not going to get into reading this verse by verse for you, but notice that the horn is broken toward the people of God and another little horn (understanding) comes out of it, and it is that second understanding – the little horn – that takes away the "continual" and puts in it’s place the abomination that makes desolate, which is what we covered in the last study – that was covered in part one of this study. Notice that the four horns – out of this understanding comes the little horn. It isn’t the Papacy. It isn’t anything outside of yourself – it’s you. You have been the problem all along, in picking up the book and reading it for yourself; taking the river of God, parting it into four heads, making it earthly. You are the one who took away the continual and put in its place the abomination which makes desolate. Matthew 24 – the Lord says: You’ll hear the gospel of the kingdom, and you’ll see that abomination standing where it ought not to stand. So Gabriel comes to Daniel that he might consider the vision and, as he goes through the explanation, one thing he says about this "little horn" that comes forth – in verse 23: Daniel 8:23 23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding [considering] dark sentences, shall stand up. Those "dark sentences" are the scriptures. See, what I see is this little horn developing from the "four," the earthly understanding – taking the dark sentences, taking the scriptures and trying to make sense of them for himself, and destroying God’s sanctuary; reeking havoc in the sanctuary of God, thinking he’s saved, thinking he’s walking in the salvation of God. The truth is, he’s believing lies, and when the Lord comes to straighten that out in the human heart, that is an ultimate test – if you can lay down your own understanding and stop trusting self, and begin to trust the moving of the spirit of God, realizing that the word of God is spoken to your heart ... it isn’t what you’re reading, it’s what He’s impressing upon you. DANIEL 9 This brings me to Daniel, chapter 9, because Daniel faints at the end of 8 – when you come to chapter 9, he has this wonderful prayer that he prays, and then who shows up but Gabriel, who comes to him again. I want you to read this – listen, I have never been so sold on anything in my whole life, than what I’m getting ready to share with you. What I’m going to share with you makes so much sense to me – it makes enough sense that I would challenge anyone to prove me wrong, as we look at Daniel 9. Gabriel returns back to Daniel – I want to start at Daniel 9, verse 20 – again you guys, I’m simply giving you symbol meanings, giving you some explanation so that you can go back and make this your own. Daniel 9:20-23
20 And whiles I was speaking [while I was speaking (in this prayer that he
has)], and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and
presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my
God; And let me say this: When the Lord sends a "messenger" to you – the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher – He’s doing this because He loves you. He’s trying to help you see plainly, that you might reach a completed perfection now. He does this because you are greatly loved. I just had meetings in Cleveland, and I tried to bring this out to them, and make this point. I am not up here saying these things for my health – I’m up here for your health. This is so that you might understand and let the Lord straighten out the iniquity of your heart. The Lord has given me – He has laid a burden on my heart to help you, and I am up here to help you. This isn’t for me, it’s for you, and I can honestly tell you, you are greatly loved of God, and He has sent me to give you understanding so that you might consider the vision that He has given through His prophets – for your sake, those "upon whom the end of the world is come" – that is you. Looking at Daniel 9, verse 24 – Gabriel begins to explain, now listen, the vision found in chapter 8. In this vision of 8, when Daniel sees the little horn take away the continual, placing the abomination which makes desolate, Daniel asks the question: "How long shall this be?" The "Wonderful Numberer" tells him 2300 evening mornings – that is something that, in the last study, I divided up. In this chapter, Daniel 9, the Lord moves on Gabriel to explain the vision of chapter 8 again. This time, he uses a different number: "70 weeks" – and I want you to see what he says in verse 24 – now this is key:
Daniel 9:24 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy [your] people ...
This word "determined" means cut out or divided. And what Gabriel is going to do is take this "70 weeks" and divide them up into seven weeks, sixty and two weeks, and then one last week. He divides up the 70 weeks after saying: "Seventy weeks have been divided, have been cut out." Now what I was told in the past was that we had a 2300 day prophecy, and this "70 weeks" came out of the 2300 days – false. The 2300 days brings a cleansing to the sanctuary. I want you to look at what Gabriel tells Daniel in chapter 9, verse 24 – what he says the 70 weeks will do. If this isn’t cleansing the sanctuary, please help me see this – notice: Daniel 9:24 24 Seventy weeks are determined [or divided] upon thy [your] people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins [sin], and to make reconciliation [or a covering] for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up [and make an end of] the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. This word "seal up" is the same word "to make an end," in the same verse. Seventy weeks will make an end to the vision of 8. Seventy weeks makes reconciliation for iniquity; seventy weeks makes an end of sin. I was told that was talking about Calvary – that isn’t true – "Calvary" doesn’t make an end of sin. Having Calvary applied to your heart makes an end of sin. When Jesus Christ died at that cross, He didn’t make an end of sin – the "end of sin" doesn’t happen for you until you understand it, and it heals your emotional sin problem. Remember, we are far beyond looking at Calvary as an appeasement for an angry God. Let me tell you something that may rock your boat – it’s going to make you think.... There isn’t a single verse in the whole Bible that says Jesus died to pay your penalty. If there is one, I would like to read it. We have devised that doctrine from various verses that we think imply certain things. There’s not a single verse in the Bible that says Jesus died to pay your penalty – God couldn’t forgive you if Jesus hadn’t died and appeased His anger – there is nothing in the Bible that says that. We have concocted that – actually that was given us by Catholicism, and we bought into the lie. Nothing could be further from the truth. What Christ did at Calvary does not make an end of sin until it’s applied to your heart. You cannot go back two thousand years ago, and say, "Well there, sin ended" – only if you say, "Sin is recorded in a big book in heaven and, if you believe in Jesus, God will then cover your sin with the blood of Jesus" or "He’ll take away; He’ll erase it out of the book." I don’t know exactly what it was I thought at one time, but I know that was the flavor of it – God is up there counting my sin against me. If I’ll only believe in Jesus, Jesus then, will have paid the price for all my garbage I’ve done, therefore God can forgive me because somebody died, and He isn’t angry anymore. That’s a heathen god – you’re worshiping a heathen god, if that’s what you think – that’s heathenism. Looking at Daniel 9:24, "seventy weeks" have been cut out, have been divided up – these will make an end of sin. This is going to make the reconciliation for the iniquity in your heart; this will make an end of the vision in chapter 8, which ends with the 2300 day cleansing of the sanctuary – I should say 2300 evening mornings – I say "day," it’s a habit.... It’s 2300 evening mornings. The seventy weeks of Daniel are another way of seeing the 2300 evening morning prophecy. I was asked, "How can you justify dividing up the 2300 evening morning prophecy?" I can justify it because the Lord divides up the 70 weeks. 70 WEEKS DIVIDED Let me show you what the "70 weeks" means. Like I say, I know you have never heard these things before, and it’s hard to have an opinion when you’ve never heard – let’s read Daniel 9, verse 25: Daniel 9:25 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince ... Messiah, the Prince ... put them together. "Messiah" – He’s going to save me from myself; Messiah, He becomes your Messiah in a new and living way when you see your sin nature. When you see that you thought you had no value to God, Jesus Christ becomes Messiah, the Prince of the King, who sent His only birthed Son to say, "I love you this much." Messiah, the Prince – Daniel 9:25 ... shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks [sixty and two weeks]: ... Stop. Look up the word "week" – you’ll discover it’s seven. What does "seven" mean? Seven means a "fulfillment." Seven is not a "completion"; seven means a "fulfillment." If the "seventy sevens" or seventy fulfillments that take place accomplish the same thing as the 2300 evening mornings – 2300 evening mornings cleanses the sanctuary – seventy fulfillments makes an end of sin, makes reconciliation, the covering for my iniquity, makes an end of the prophecy found in chapter 8. If seventy fulfillments makes an end of sin; if it is equivalent to the 2300 day prophecy, then I can come back, hopefully, to the sanctuary itself and see how these numbers apply. Looking at the sanctuary, where do you see "seven weeks," "seven sevens," seven fulfillments in the sanctuary? Look at the candlestick – from Ephesus to Laodicea – each one of those "cities" is a fulfillment in your Christian walk. But when you come to Laodicea, and He gives you the message of your sin nature, He’s able to light the candlestick. See, those "sevens" have not completed you – it’s a fulfillment. You’re now ready for another step, once He can get the candlestick lit – taking you from Ephesus to Laodicea ... that is "seven fulfillments." Then, he says, there’ll be "sixty and two fulfillments." Well, where do you see that? I have seen for some time that the Lord, as He shows us His character, has different avenues for us to take in order for us to learn what the whole truth is, and I saw it as spokes of a wheel – getting to that hub, getting to understand the character of God, who He really is – coming into that hub were various spokes, various avenues. And depending on which avenue I go down, I’m seeing elements of the same thing, but He always puts something on this avenue that isn’t over here, and if I can go down every avenue, and check every avenue, then I have a more full picture of what He’s saying. I can go down one spoke to get to the hub, but I want to possess the whole wheel – I want the whole thing. This "sixty and two fulfillments" is such a thing – it’s found in this spoke, it’s found in this avenue, not elsewhere. Now what I’m getting ready to share with you is something I had seen but, now that I see the number meanings and I see it used here, I now have a verse to prove it. If we took the number sixty-two – "sixty and two" – notice how those numbers are not together. It’s not sixty-two, it’s "sixty and two." Looking at "sixty" and, from what I tried to point out in the last study, how "ten" is a number symbol of the abiding truth, of the Lord speaking to your heart. "Ten times six" – "six" is the number of man; "ten"– God speaking to you the "six," showing you your humanity and "two sevens" or "two fulfillments." "Two" – when you trace back that word "two," it traces back to a word that means to change. Remember in Malachi where the Lord says, "I change not"? That is what "two" is rooted in – it means to alter. Consider, "10 x 6" – the Lord showing you your humanity; the Lord showing you "man" – altering "seven,"altering "fulfillment," – altering your perception of what fulfillment is. This is the last stage, I believe, one of the last things we have to see in order to get beyond the veil into the holy of holies, so that Leviticus 16 can become a reality in our lives. How do you perceive "holiness before God"? I want to read a verse found in Romans 12, verse 1: Romans 12:1 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye [you] present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy [comma], acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. When we say this word "holy," we mean it is something acceptable to God. If something is "unholy," you’re saying it’s not acceptable – that’s unacceptable to God. If it’s "holy" it’s something acceptable to God. We’re talking about entering into the "holy of holies." If that sanctuary is between our ears, the "holy of holies" is the most acceptable mindset we can possess before God our Father. He is trying to get us beyond the veil – the veil represents "Babylon." Sewn into the fabric of that veil were "angels," messengers or messages we have been given concerning God that cause confusion about Him – that stood in our way from seeing God’s desire for us, and seeing the Father Himself. That veil needs to come down! Don’t go back and read, "Well when Christ died at the cross, the veil was rent from top to bottom" – I’m telling you, that’s a symbol. That is something that happens in your heart – that sets you free, that helps you reach a completed perfection. You see, once again we’re back to that slippery rock, aren’t we? That slippery concept – when Jesus died, it was to appease God, therefore the veil was rent... we can all now just come freely to God. You can come freely to God – you always could – you just can’t "see" Him because of the "veil" that separates between the two – you and Him. There’s a veil between – you didn’t have to have Christ die before you could come before the Lord, but you had to have Christ die before you could come before the Lord in your own heart, because you didn’t realize the love He had for you. "Sixty and two": God showing you the "six," altering your perception of "holiness." What is "holiness"? Being acceptable to God. What is it that makes you "holy" in God’s eyes? This is what the Lord has to alter; this is the element of truth that is in this avenue, looking at the seventy weeks, that you may not see elsewhere. What is it that makes you "holy" before God? Is it the fact that you don’t eat meat? Is it the fact that you go to church on this day, or you were water baptized, or ... what is it that you think makes you acceptable to God? The Lord tells us in Matthew that there is nothing that you put in your mouth that defiles you. Paul wrote in Romans 14: There is nothing that is unclean in and of itself. If you esteem it to be so, then it is...it isn’t in the Lord’s eyes. Then what is it that makes you acceptable? What is He looking for in you? I want to tell you what that is. What makes you holy before God has nothing to do with your hair, or your clothes or your food – it has everything to do with your perception of Him and His love for you. When we get into Leviticus 16 in a minute, I want you to see – getting beyond the veil, allowing His love to affect your life. I’m going to tell you right now, what’s acceptable to God is how you perceive Him in truth. It has nothing to do with what you’re doing – it’s how His love is straightening out the actions of your life. Now I’ve got to say something here, and make something straight – this is one reason I wanted to do this tape again... I don’t want to be misunderstood. I have used, in trying to make a point, I may have misstated how the Lord is working in our lives. In the past, when I have spoken of the Lord helping us to overcome sin, I would use an example of a five-day smoking plan and that if all you’re doing is doing this five-day smoking plan, trying to stop smoking, that isn’t what the Lord is looking for. It is why you smoke – it is the root of the problem the Lord is going to get to. But by no means do I mean, am I saying, "Don’t go to a five-day smoking plan." If that’s what it takes for you to stop smoking, then by all means do it – but if you stop there without getting to the root, that is the problem. You see, the churches, the denominations I’ve been involved with had their list of "do’s and don’ts." I’m not saying the Lord doesn’t care what you do. There are things you may be doing in your life that need to stop and it may take every ounce of willpower you have to stop. But if that is where you end it and you say, "I’ve been delivered .... He saved me," that’s a mistake. His deliverance comes in rooting it out of you, not simply bringing it to a halt. I’m not saying, "Don’t try to stop," but don’t stop with that – continue on to understand the "why" of it. I also felt like I had been misunderstood as saying, "Just go ahead and keep living the way you want to live until the Lord changes your understanding" – I’m not saying that. Look at Christ in Gethsemane, crying out to the Father, Take this cup from me. Take the understanding, the experience from me ... take the cup from Me. Take this experience from Me so I don’t have to go through this. Nevertheless, not what I want, but what You want of Me. That man was pressed, He was struggling – He was going through turmoil and suffering. I believe part of that was to stay faithful to God and do what His Father was asking Him to do, but I also believe there’s more to it than that. You see, I don’t believe for one minute that when the sweat was coming out of His pores like great drops of blood, He’s pressed to the ground – I don’t believe my Heavenly Father was laying my sin on that man. I don’t believe that for a minute. I believe He was showing His Son why He didn’t want to go to Calvary. It’s always been interesting to me that, here the Son of God proclaimed throughout His ministry that He would be rejected of the elders and scribes and be crucified, yet the night before it was to happen, He prayed that He wouldn’t have to go through it. Now, my first question to Him would be, "Why not? Why don’t you want to go through this?" And I think the Father was revealing to Him that last bit of information concerning Himself, concerning the iniquity that He possessed. The man never sinned – but He was "made of a woman" – He had the nature of Abraham. He had a sin nature – it never overcame Him; He was the truth, but He had a sin nature, and when He went before God and prayed three times, "Father, take this cup from Me. You can do all things. Take this cup from Me," the Father would not take the cup – but I believe began to reveal to Him why He didn’t want to go through with it. Now consider this with me: We’re going to get into Leviticus 16 and, if I can remember to do it, I want to bring you back to this point about Christ and what His problem was – why He didn’t want to go forward. I pray the Lord remind me to do this, because it’s important that you see this. But not to get anymore off the subject, looking at this "sixty and the two fulfillments," I believe what the Lord is saying is that He is getting you through the veil – that "sixty and two" represent that veil of iniquity that separates between you and God, that you cannot see who your Father is. He has to alter your perception of "holiness," of what fulfillment is... God: 10 x 6 – God showing you your humanity, your manhood, showing you who you are – your person and altering fulfillment. Again, it isn’t the things you’re doing, it’s the why you do them. What makes you full? What makes you acceptable to God? The most acceptable mindset you can be in is that [you are] understanding God’s love and that it’s changing your life. You’ll see this in a more plain way, I believe, in Leviticus 16. THE LAST FULFILLMENT We have looked at the candlestick, the seven fulfillments, the sixty and two fulfillments – there is one last fulfillment to consider. Looking at Daniel 9, I want to read verse 26: Daniel 9:26 26 And after threescore and two weeks [the sixty and two weeks] shall Messiah be cut off, ... ... shall Messiah die – after you get beyond this veil. Now listen to me: We’re talking about the Day of Atonement; we’re talking about the cleansing of the sanctuary. Everything he’s saying in Daniel 9 goes back to Daniel 8, just different verbiage being used, but meaning the same thing. After you get beyond the veil, Messiah is going to die for you. This is the Day of Atonement, which we’ll read about in just a minute. Daniel 9:26 26 And after threescore and two weeks [the two sevens, or fulfillments] shall Messiah be cut off [Messiah will be cut off], but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary [the future people of the prince shall destroy the city and sanctuary]; Stop – in the last study, I read this as an outward thing, but what if you put it inward? When you get beyond that veil, and Messiah dies for you and the sanctuary is cleansed, this old way of understanding dies ... that old "Jerusalem," that old "city," that old "sanctuary" is destroyed. The future people of the prince inwardly will destroy this old way of thinking, this old thing that we have devised, because He is going to cleanse our sanctuary and make us whole. Daniel 9:26 ... and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Now, I believe this is playing off the next verse, so reading Daniel 9:27:
Daniel 9:27 27 And he [Christ] shall [will] confirm the covenant with many [those who have ears to hear – with many] for one week [for this one completion -- one fulfillment, I should say]: and in the midst of the week [in the midst of this fulfillment] he shall cause [He’s going to cause] the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, Stop – looking at the last fulfillment which cleanses your sanctuary, let me connect two verses for you: 1 Peter 1:9 – the completion of your faith is the salvation of your soul. "Faith" is understanding; to complete your understanding is the salvation of your soul. Connect it with James 2:22 – works perfects your faith. Salvation is the perfecting of faith; works perfects the faith. Looking at this last "seven," half way through it, the sacrifices and oblations stop. Why? Because you’re made perfect in Christ, the sanctuary is cleansed. But now "works" will perfect it – you have to live what you believe. You have to be put to the test. Now let me lay something on you – connect with this Revelation 10. When we get into Leviticus 16, we’re going to see that you come into the sanctuary, taking the coals of fire and incense, putting them together, creating a "cloud" – and in Revelation 10, Christ is seen in a "cloud," coming down from heaven. In Leviticus 16, the Lord says: You create this cloud. I’ll be seen in the cloud. Revelation 10, Christ is seen in that cloud. If you back up to Revelation 8, Revelation 9, you’ll see that progress through the sanctuary. In fact, in Revelation 9, He’s standing at the golden altar – a voice is heard from the golden altar and that is that altar of incense, where you combine the coals of fire with the incense that creates the smoke, or the cloud that covers the mercy seat. Chapter 10, Christ is seen in the cloud. I’m going to tell you right now, that Revelation Chapter 10 is a picture of the Day of Atonement, and the Lord has walked us right into it, looking at the middle of the last fulfillment where the sacrifice and oblation stops – where He brings you to perfection. We’ll fine tune it in a minute when we look at Leviticus 16. Looking at Revelation 10, Christ is seen in the cloud, He has a "little book" open in His hand. That little book is the same word "book" translated in Revelation 4 and 5, but it’s different in that it’s little – it’s a little book. Revelation 4 and 5, that "book" is your mind that He is opening and revealing to you yourself. Revelation 10 is the "little book" – it is the little bit left that you need to see about yourself. It’s the final cleansing – that’s why it’s so sweet but, after you swallow it, it’s bitter because He’s revealing yourself to you. That’s why He tells John, "after you eat the book," ... (Who’s John? The fellow who saw Him at Calvary; the fellow who was given the Revelation of Christ – it’s a picture of you.) After He eats the book, what happens? He’s told, You’ve got to go prophesy again. Go give this testimony again. This time, though, you’re clean before God completely – you’re whole. You are truly the 144,000; you have reached a completed perfection – and what is seen? The "two witnesses" giving their testimony – who are the two witnesses? Well, in the past we saw them as "Michael and Jesus." It isn’t Michael and Jesus, it’s who Michael and Jesus represent – the cherubim on top of that box, God’s initial desire for humanity and the fulfillment of it. The two witnesses are now possessed by the people of God, they are the cherubim on the box; they are the complete inward, complete body of Christ, giving the last testimony to the world. And they have to live what they believe, what the Lord has shown them – they have to stand for the truth, which I’m going to cover in Leviticus 16. I’ve got to get over there, and I hope after you hear this study, you’ll go back and listen again, and get back up to this part to understand what I’m saying. There is something the Lord is going to reveal to you concerning yourself – it is seen in Leviticus 16. It is seen as that "scapegoat" in Leviticus 16. You have to live what you believe, hence the persecution – the two witnesses are "slain," and they lie dead in the street for how long? Three and a half days – the other half of your last "seven" – the other half of this fulfillment. The first half, He cleanses the sanctuary; the second half is – you live it – just like Christ. When that man walked out of Gethsemane, He was the Lamb of God, but He had to live what it was the Father had brought Him to understand. He was put to the test, because that is what seals that truth in your heart, hence, when you read Revelation 11, it is the sounding of that seventh trumpet that brings an end to all things – the consummation of all things. That’s why in Daniel 9 (now listen to this verse): Daniel 9:27 27 And he shall [He’ll] confirm the covenant with many [or with those who have ears to hear] for one week [for the last "seven" – for the last fulfillment]: and in the midst of the week [this fulfillment] he shall [He’s going to] cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, ... He brings you the understanding, but you’re understanding without works. See, it isn’t brought to perfection without the works – the other half is for you to stand [for] what you believe – the other "three and a half days" for the persecution you endure, the persecution revealing to the world the truth that you understand about God. You are now whole in God’s eyes. Daniel 9:27 ... and for the overspreading of abominations he [God] shall [will] make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall [will] be poured upon the desolate. You see, at this point in the history of humanity, when God’s church is going through the fulfillment, those who are rejecting that truth are being made desolate. They do not know the time of their visitation. When they reject your testimony, they have rejected a high priest of God, who in God’s eyes, is perfect – who God is sending because He loves them and wants to save them. You, knowing the truth, proclaiming the truth, will be rejected. Some will pick it up and accept it, but the majority will reject it, sealing in you, perfecting in you the faith of Christ. THE CLOUD Now let’s go to Leviticus 16 and take a look at the "Day of Atonement." This Day of Atonement, if you’ll read Leviticus 16:1 through 10, the Lord sets up what is to take place. Starting at verse 11, He begins to be more specific about the offerings offered. I want you to see though, in Leviticus 16, verse 2: Leviticus 16:2-3 2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy [your] brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. 3 Thus shall Aaron [This is how Aaron shall] come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
He puts on the "linen" clothing – I’m going to let you read this on your own so I can get to this "cloud" and explain to you the cloud, and what He is saying here. Verse 11, where the Lord is fine tuning this – where the Lord is putting the magnifying glass on it:
Leviticus 16-11-13
11 And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself,
and shall make an atonement [he’ll make the covering] for himself, and
for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for
himself: Now, I’ve just read a lot of symbols – let me explain. Go back, listen to the studies: The Winepress and Edom and The Winepress and Christ – listen to those two studies if you don’t understand what I’m getting ready to say. The "bullock" offered in the sin offering is a picture of Gethsemane because we see the bullock die in one place, but all of its "outward" parts, (6 parts – the number of man) six parts are taken to "Calvary," or taken outside the city and burned on the wood, which has to represent Calvary. If that burning on the wood is Calvary, the dying of the bullock happens in Gethsemane. Going back, looking at the sin offering, looking at the bullock – the death of the bullock – six parts are taken outside the camp. What part was burnt in that fire? The "fat" – the fat of that animal was consumed in these coals and, when Aaron is told to scoop up the coals, the burning coals, it is the fat that is scooped up. Then he combines it with the "incense" and these two things together create the "cloud," or the smoke – the cloud that goes over the mercy seat. Look at Revelation 15, the very last verse: Revelation 15:8 8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; ... In Leviticus 16, we have the "burning coals of fire" and the "incense." In Revelation 15, we have the "power of God" and the "glory of God" – which is which? When I see incense and I realize "incense" is a symbol of righteousness or God’s thought, I have the "glory of God" – the "power of God," therefore, is seen in the burning coals. The fat being consumed – "fat" is a symbol of sin– the fat being consumed in you is manifesting the power of God. When you see Aaron take the coals of fire, it’s a manifestation that God is working in your life and it’s combined with God’s thought. See, now I’m back to the five day smoking plan again – it isn’t the fact that you’ve stopped smoking, it’s the fact that combined with His thought, it’s consuming out of you the root. This is what creates the cloud that covers the mercy seat so that when you get beyond the veil, you "die not." He isn’t saying: I’ll kill you if you come in this place... what He is saying is: Without the evidence that the truth is working in your life, by means of the fat being consumed mixed with His thought, you can’t get beyond the veil, you can’t go beyond the veil. If you get beyond the veil, that is working in your life – it has to be. The truth... remember the parable where Christ speaks of the man who plants the seed, waters it and it grows up and bears fruit, and he knows not how? (Mark 4:26-27) That is an action that he can’t see – it’s like a covert action. It’s something you can’t see – it just happens imperceptibly, but eventually you begin to realize the fruit of what’s happening in your life. That explanation of how that begins to happen in a covert way is what this word "cloud" means in Leviticus 16. The word "cloud" has actually been translated an observer of times because it means "to act in a hidden fashion." You see, the Lord is saying you take the fat burning, mixed with His thought – that creates the action, and He says, I’ll be seen in that cloud – I’ll be seen in that action. You can’t perceive it, you can’t understand it, but I am seen in that, because He is the one changing your life. It isn’t just "the smoking plan," it’s the understanding that’s rooting it out of you. You know, if you have trouble beating your wife, make every effort to stop beating her.... make every effort to treat her in kindness, but... seek the Lord as to why you’re in that position in the first place, why you would do that in the first place – that is what I am trying to say. When you know the Lord wouldn’t have you do something, as Christ in Gethsemane came to the conclusion, not my will but Yours be done, not My will, but Yours – you see, take that attitude: Not my will, I’ll do whatever, and it may press me to the ground, but I don’t stop there until He roots it out of me. That is why I know in Gethsemane He rooted out of Christ the reason why He didn’t want to go to Calvary. THE GOAT Let’s look at, in Leviticus 16, the offering of the "goat." In this chapter, you’re to bring "two goats" before the Lord – one is slain, one is turned loose – one is called a "scapegoat." When Christ died on that cross, He was the "serpent on the pole" – He was the "goat," He was the old man. That’s why He can be the Lamb of God going to the cross, because He went to the cross because He was being obedient to His Father. He was in perfect obedience to His Father but, on the cross, He became sin – 2 Corinthians 5, the very last verse. He was the Lamb going to the cross – on the cross He became sin. On the cross He became the serpent on the pole – He slays that inward "serpent" for you, as you look at Calvary. Now question: How did He become sin? How did that man become sin when He had never sinned? I was always told: God laid my sin on Him, making Him sin – that’s not true. I want to show you what made Him sin. How do you define sin? 1 John 3:4 – sin is the transgression of the law – look it up; it says sin is lawlessness. What is the law? Take it to the Hebrew, take it to the Old Testament – it’s the teaching of God. The word simply means "teaching." "Sin" is lawlessness – "sin" is to be without God’s teaching. When the Lord moves on your heart, that is called "grace" – when you receive His grace, you’re receiving His teaching. I want you to read a verse with me in Titus, chapter 2, and I’m trying to cover a lot of ground in a short time because I have more to say, and I want to get it all in this study if I can. Looking at Titus 2:11: Titus 2:11-13
11 For the grace of God that bringeth [brings] salvation ["salvation" is
understanding... For the grace of God that brings salvation has ... ] hath
appeared to all men, Now stop – as God moves on your heart, the grace of God is teaching you, it’s bringing you to the understanding to live holy before God – to live righteously as He impresses your heart. It’s appeared to all men – when you resist that grace, that is sin – you are without God’s instruction. "Sin" is lawlessness – sin is to be without God’s teaching. How was Christ made sin? There’s only one way this could have happened to Him – it is when the Father separated from Him. Christ was only on that cross because He was in obedience to His Father, perfect light. But on the cross, the Father separated from Him, leaving Him nothing but dust – He became the serpent – He was the serpent on the pole. Look at Isaiah 53, and I don’t want to get too far away from Leviticus 16, because I want to see the application of the blood of the bullock, and the blood of the goat, but you’ve got to see how this man is the "goat" and, in Isaiah 53, the Lord makes this statement in verse 10: Isaiah 53:10 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: ... "When you ..." now stop – you could say, so that when you ... You see, it pleased the Lord to bruise Him, it pleased the Lord to do this. When the Lord put Him to grief, everything you’re going to read after – is a result of God doing this to His Son. It pleased the Lord to do this so that ... now everything you read is a result of this – and what we’re going to read, if you look the words up, I think this will help you better understand Calvary, and why Christ had to become sin. God had to separate from Him to make Him sin – notice: Isaiah 53:10 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief [he put him to grief]: [so that ... now here is the result of the Father doing that...] when thou shalt [when you] make his soul an offering for sin [817], ... King James put: an offering for sin. "Offering for sin" [817] is one word – listen, the first time it’s used in the Bible, it’s translated guiltiness and, when you look up the word, it means failure. When you make His soul the failure ... stop. How does He look like the failure? Christ on that cross was a symbol of our failure as people, as human beings. We have a "crown of thorns," iniquity that is piercing us daily. We’re "naked," we live naked – we’re just manifesting our self every step. The crown of thorns, nakedness – "darkness" covered the land, and He was godless. He was godless because the Father separated from Him, making Him so. He was that picture of the old man ... we are godless because we choose to be. "Sin" is to resist His grace – Christ pictured us – crown of thorns, naked, dark land, and godless. When you can make His soul the failure, when you can look at Him and say, "Well, that is my failure – to have the crown of thorns, to be naked, to be resisting God – that is a picture of my failure..." Notice what He says, Isaiah 53: Isaiah 53:10 10 ... he shall see his seed [you will see seed], ... This word "seed" is a noun – the verb of it means to plant – the "seed" is what was sown, what was planted, what was conceived. It pleased the Father to bruise His Son so that when you can come and look at this cross and say that is guiltiness; that is the failure – you will see seed. You’ll see what was conceived in you. You will see the problem, your problem, what has always been from the very beginning, which we’re going to see in a moment – Leviticus 16, in this live goat. Now notice: Isaiah 53:10-11 10 ... he shall see his seed [he’ll see seed], he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall [will] prosper in his hand [hands .. See, it pleased the Lord to do this – the pleasure of the Lord will prosper; what God has wanted will begin to take place in your life, and notice...]. 11 He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: ... "He" ... the person, not God, the person will see the travail of Christ’s soul and be satisfied with the love of the Father – will be satisfied that God loves him. See, this will bring the "cleansing of the sanctuary," this will make the "reconciliation for iniquity," this will make "an end of sin" – the application of Calvary to the human heart. It pleased the Father to use His Son to create a picture of man’s failure so that when you can see it – and remember when you’re looking at Calvary, you’re seeing perfect obedience, and perfect sin – perfect light and perfect darkness. The "Lamb of God," the "goat" – the "Son of God," the "Son of man," the "serpent" – all of that is happening at the same time on that cross. When you can see Him and see the problem, humanity’s problem, you’ll see what was conceived in you ... and you’ll prolong days and the pleasure of the Lord will prosper in your hand and you’ll see the travail of His soul and be satisfied that God loves you. Leviticus 16, the bullock and the goat – the "bullock" represents Gethsemane, where you go to Gethsemane and the Lord shows you your problem. The "goat" represents Calvary, where the love of God heals you of the problem. The Lord reveals the problem – that’s the bullock; His love heals the problem – that’s the goat. But there is a second goat and this is what we’ve got to grasp in order to understand Christ’s problem in Gethsemane, and our own self. THE SCAPEGOAT Looking at Leviticus 16, in verse 10, this scapegoat – this word "scapegoat" – it’s the only place it’s used in the Bible. Looking this word up, the Hebrew word is Azazel.
Now, it’s interesting when you look at that word "goat" in Daniel 8, the root of it is "azaz" – here you have "azaz-el" – and if you’ll read this chapter close, you’ll see that after offering the bullock and the goat – the bullock and the goat, and let me say this before I go on ... how did Judas know Christ would be in Gethsemane? It’s because Christ went many times to Gethsemane – what you read in the gospels is the last time He went to Gethsemane. That principle, I believe, is applied here on the Day of Atonement. Your "Day of Atonement" is a feast day that takes place in your heart. All along you have been going to Gethsemane, letting the Lord reveal your problem, and going to Calvary so that His love can heal it. What you’re seeing on the Day of Atonement is the last time. Going through that process of healing – the Lord reveals it, the Lord heals it; the Lord reveals it, the Lord heals it – creates in you the fit man. Read in your margin – it’s "a man of opportunity."
The "fit" man, who is able to take this live goat and lead it away. Looking up "Azazel" in Gesenius, Gesenius says the word actually means "averter" – the averter. He says, it was the name (now listen) – "the name of a demon god that needed sacrifice to be appeased." Now when I saw that, I took that to the Lord, telling Him that I haven’t seen Him like that for a long time – as being the angry God that needed to be appeased. What does it mean, on the Day of Atonement – that’s when it’s led away from me, and the Lord showed me: I have been Azazel – Azazel is us – we are the angry god that needed to be appeased. By you offering the bullock and the goat, the bullock and the goat, the bullock and the goat .... creating that fit man, you’re able to lead away that thing, that part of you that averts you from God’s righteousness – that thing that needs to be appeased. See, you are the one that needed the apologies; you are the one that needed the forgiveness, that needed somebody to ask forgiveness – and we, having that attitude, read the book (remember "the horn is broken into four" – he looks at God’s river, it becomes an earthly thing). We’ve taken this book and made God like unto ourselves: Why, if somebody did this to me, they better apologize! Well, we’re doing it to God – He needs a human sacrifice. It’s so easy for us to believe that stuff because we made God like us – that’s what we would do. Your Heavenly Father isn’t like that. He wants to show you your problem – heal it with the goat, heal it at Calvary, create a fit man or a man of opportunity, who is able to lead away "the averter" and it never be a part of your life again – that you never be averted from God’s righteousness. The next time somebody steps on your toes and you start to get angry, you won’t be averted from God’s righteousness. Now, let’s look at Christ – in Gethsemane. I’ll tell you what His problem was: He didn’t want to go to Calvary to die for certain individuals. Don’t stone me, consider – what this man went through is what we go through – He was a picture of us: Father, take the cup ... nevertheless, not My will but Yours be done. What did He say on the cross? Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. You see? "Azazel" was gone, the angry god – did He need any appeasement? Absolutely not! Azazel was gone from that man forever. He had been "made of a woman, made under the law" – He carried the nature of Abraham. It never overcame Him; He never succumbed to it but, nevertheless, He possessed it, and in that garden it was manifest. He prayed three times not to have to go to Calvary and, I believe, on that cross when He made the statement, "They know not what they do," He was living the understanding that had been given Him in Gethsemane. He was portraying... His works were perfecting His understanding – that was His last "three and a half." I beg of you, listen to this study again. I’m not finished, but I beg of you, listen to this study again – go back, listen to this all over again. There is too much in here for you to just listen one time. THE ANOINTED CHERUB I want to close with Ezekiel 28, because Ezekiel 28 is "the anointed cherub that covereth" and, of course, we’ve always made this "outward" – it was this Satan, Lucifer fellow. Now I realize "Satan" and "Lucifer" is me – I possess it, and it needs to be dealt with inwardly, not outside of me. In Ezekiel 28, we see, the way this chapter begins, the Lord is dealing with "the prince of Tyrus" but, when you come to verse 11 and 12, it becomes "the king of Tyrus." A "prince" is not as responsible as a "king" and this king of Tyrus is you! The "cherubim" on the ark of the covenant represent humanity. Notice, Ezekiel 28:11: Ezekiel 28:11-12
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, "You seal up the sum" ... do you know what that means? You are of finished proportions – it was this scripture that I took the name of the study from. "Finished proportions" – you know the three elements of truth – you know enough that God could cleanse you, but if His truth is not having the effect on your heart, there’ll be no "cloud," there’ll be no evidence of His love in your heart, hence, Aaron dies – he can’t go beyond the veil. Hence, the cherubim that covers falls – there’s no evidence that it’s working in your life. I want to read a few verses of this: Ezekiel 28:13-15
13 Thou hast [You have] been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was
thy [your] covering ["stones" are concepts ... He has given you every
truth, every precious stone], ... 15 Thou wast [You were] perfect in thy [your] ways from the day that thou wast [you were] created, till iniquity was found in thee [you]. See, two distortions we carry – we have a distorted understanding of God; a distorted understanding of self. The doctrinal understanding is hard enough to come by – you have to learn to trust God to be able to say, "Babylon is fallen, I’m not doctrinally confused anymore." When you reach that point, you’re of "finished proportions." But now He is going to show you the iniquity of your heart, and He says, you did OK until the iniquity was found in you. You couldn’t deal with what He wanted to show you. Listen, this message is for us: It’s one thing to knock down the Trinity God, and believe the Son of God, believe all these doctrinal things, but if it isn’t changing your heart, something is wrong – something is terribly wrong. You might believe that God loves you, but I have to ask you, why do you believe it? If your answer to that question is anything other than "God told me so" – then you’re still in your sin. There’s only one thing powerful enough to break the lie in your heart, and that is the voice of God speaking it – only His voice to your heart, speaking His love, will give you a new foundation of understanding. That new foundation of understanding – when once received, causes you to ascend out of the sea, out of the lie, and to begin a ministry as a high priest before God, having burning coals so you can mix it with incense, and go beyond the veil. I’m telling you right now, without that understanding, you’re still in your sin – understanding coming from the Father Himself. He goes on to tell the anointed cherub: It is your merchandise that you possessed that has corrupted your wisdom. It has caused a violence to happen in your thinking. I think of: The kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. From the days of John the Baptist, you see, as this man preached the gospel, it created violence in people’s minds because it was a total change of what they had ever understood. That spirit comes in and changes, creating the violence within, and you have to lay down your ideas in order to follow the Lord – and here it happens again – Ezekiel 28. Read it, take your time, read it – put it inward. Look at the symbols and understand that if this message is not changing your heart, you are ultimately responsible, more responsible than any person that’s lived on this planet. The Lord has given you the ability to be complete in God’s eyes, by giving you His truth to this level of understanding. I’m going to tell you right now, we are far and beyond anyone, any other denomination, on this planet. You are far and beyond any denomination – you are the remnant church. Question is: Is it going to change your heart? Can you go before Him and humble yourself on your knees and be quiet and hear Him speak to you, and then allow Him to show you iniquity so that He can cleanse it, in the meanwhile, making every effort to walk in His perfect will? Not living in sin, waiting on Him to change your understanding – that’s garbage – making every effort to live in His perfect will, seeking Him to give you understanding of the problem. You see, many of us have made every effort to be in His perfect will, but we’ve never sought Him as to why we did what we did – why we wanted to sin, why we got angry, why we got jealous. It’s all right to resist jealousy, to resist anger, but if you stop there, you’re going to go down – you’ve got to let Him heal you of it. You don’t just train the mind so you don’t do it anymore. You let Him heal you of it and truly be a child of God.
